Sonoran Gold - sterling silver ring

Another turquoise love… and actually my very first ring in true American style :) What makes it so special is the stamping on a bold, half-round band.

But now let’s talk about the turquoise. I don’t really need to say much about the color – it’s just stunning. Vibrant green with hints of aqua and beautiful matrix running through it. This is the signature look of Sonora Gold turquoise. It comes from the state of Sonora in Mexico, specifically from the Campitos Mountain area near the town of Cananea, just a few miles from the Arizona border. That’s why my dear soul in Phoenix who cuts these stones doesn’t have to go far to work with them, ha ha.

This stone has been treated with the gentle J. Zachary process, which preserves the natural beauty and glow of the turquoise while giving it extra strength. It’s the same method often used on the finest turquoise that needs a little stabilization.

The ring itself is crafted from solid 925 sterling silver.

It feels wonderful on the hand and is comfortable for everyday wear. You can even wear it in the water, though I always recommend being careful with chemicals and cosmetics since they can affect the silver.
